Please Note:
- In conformity with national and international museum standards, the ROM does not offer price appraisals or evaluations of objects, specimens, or works of art to the general public. However, we do offer identifications in the following formats. The Department of Natural History provides identifications of fossils, rocks, gems, or suspected meteorites through regularly scheduled clinics. The Department of World Cultures may be able to assist with identifications by appointment, and only when possible. Identifications cannot be made over the telephone.
- Our curators engage in research both at and away from the Museum and are unable to respond to students' homework questions. First try your school and public libraries and the Web by typing your topic into a Search Engine. If that fails, then contact our Education Department and we may be able to direct you to some useful resources.
