Dinomobile
Come face-to-face with dinosaurs in an exciting and educational experience!
The Dinomobile is a unique, wheelchair-accessible exhibition contained in a tractor-trailer. The interior is divided into four major areas, containing two- and three-dimensional displays. There are reconstructions of full size dinosaurs, such as an Albertosaurus attacking a nest of Maiasaur hatchlings, or an Ornithomimus running from two Dromaeosaurs with razor-sharp teeth and claws. Closely examine the head of a Triceratops, or compare the similarities between birds and dinosaurs. The visitor experience is enhanced by reconstructed habitats and sounds that scientists believe dinosaurs made.
English and French text covers the topics of size, body armour, head crests, similarities to birds, hunting strategies, Canadian excavations and extinction theories. Two graphic characters, “Haddie the Hadrosaur” and “Albert the Albertosaurus”, appear throughout the trailer with the text, posing questions for the viewers to answer as they move through the exhibition.
The exhibition can be enjoyed by individuals strolling through or by guided school tours. To complement the delivery of educational programs, an educational kit is included that contains replicas of dinosaur teeth, claws, skin impressions and coprolites (fossilized dung).
