ROM magazine
Since 1968, the ROM has published a magazine specifically for its Members, bringing news of our exciting research and collections right to their door. Published quarterly, three features per issue showcase intriguing artifacts and specimens from the ROM’s extensive collections and reveal insights about the studies our curators conduct in the Museum’s labs and collection rooms as well as around the world.
Formerly entitled Rotunda, ROM magazine takes readers behind the scenes, revealing objects not on display to Museum visitors, explaining cutting edge techniques, and taking readers along on field adventures with ROM researchers. Just redesigned for spring 2009, the new ROM welcomes renowned food writer James Chatto who explores the history and culture of cuisine and celebrated U of T philosopher Mark Kingwell who contemplates material culture.
We’ve provided a more significant platform for our curators to discuss news and views on a wide range of subjects, revamped our kids page, and developed a new section specifically for Members, which provides Members-only information on reciprocal days, free lectures and previews, various ways to support the ROM, exciting travel opportunities, and more.
